Synthesis, optical and electrochemical properties of a series of push-pull dyes based on the 4,4-bis(4-methoxy phenyl)butadienyl donor

چکیده

A series of twelve dyes based on the 4,4-bis(4-methoxyphenyl)butadienyl donor and differing by electron acceptors have been designed synthesized. The different were characterized UV–visible absorption spectroscopy as well cyclic voltammetry. By fine tuning electron-accepting ability fourteen selected acceptors, absorbing between 400 650 nm could be obtained with this ?-extended donor. To get a deeper insight into optical properties, solvatochromism was investigated in 23 solvents remarkable linear correlations using Taft Catalan scales. comparison four used reference compounds from structure electron-donating groups also established so that releasing compared ones. prepare these references compounds, only two previously for design employed. Interestingly, variation maxima determined being more influenced polarizability solvent rather than its polarity. support experimental results, theoretical calculations carried out.
